ENGLISH SOCCER


The Barclays English Premier League is one of the most important soccer competitions in the world, it was founded in 1992. The top flight of English football is the Barclays Premier League or FA Premier League. The name belongs to the sponsor Barclays, but in the UK is very common inhabitants refer to the tournament as "The Premiership".  Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 38 matches each, totalling 380 matches in the season. Most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekday evenings.
